Some of the recent arrivals are Smoked Room run by the chef, Dani García, a space with two Michelin stars 2022 and a Repsol Sun, where grilled and smoked dishes are the pillar of its proposal; and the Deessa restaurant, with one Michelin star, run by the famous chef, Quique Dacosta, which is also located in the beautiful Alfonso XIII hall at the luxury Mandarín Oriental Ritz with views over the garden.

Other consolidated restaurants also stand out, such as the famous DiverXO, the only one in Madrid with three Michelin stars with the chef, Dabiz Muñoz at the helm, which  has a tasting menu accompanied by the finest selection of wines; and Paco Roncero Restaurant with two Michelin stars, run by Paco Roncero, one of the best representatives of Spanish culinary avant-garde.

Relax on a luxury rooftop

If you are looking to relax and have something to drink, make sure you pay a visit to one of the best rooftop terraces in trendy hotels and historic buildings.  Places that offer panoramic views over the city’s skyline with a culinary offer and menus that include the best cocktails.  Among the options, the sky bars that stand out are De Madrid al Cielo and 360º Roof Top Bar located in the Hotel Riu Plaza España with 360º panoramic views; El Jardín de Diana at the Hyatt Centric Gran Via Madrid hotel  with its signature cocktails; and the VP Plaza España Design and its Ginkgo Sky Bar, with a restaurant-bar and a glamorous cocktail bar with today’s favourite drinks. As a football fan, don’t miss visiting the Pestana R7 Gran Vía Madrid terrace, the first hotel by the footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, outside Portugal. The ninth floor is home to a sports bar, where you can play table football and watch a match, in addition to the spectacular Roof Top Bar with different heights and a 360º view of the skyline.

On a stroll through Puerta del Sol, you can find the century-old shop, Casa de Diego where you can buy typical products like Manila shawls, fans, shawls, ornamental hair combs, castanets or parasols. In La Latina quarter, you can find Casa Hernanz, which has specialised in the production of espadrilles for more than a century. You can also visit the workshops of artisan maestros who make guitars by hand, such as Guitarras Ramírez and purchase this product that has been made in a unique way.

Do you like sweets? Don’t miss out on some of the century-old cake shops, such as Casa Mira, the Antigua Pastelería del Pozo or Viena Capellanes where nougat, pastries, shortbreads are the star products.
