Renowned chef Quique Dacosta, awarded the Gold Medal of Merit in Fine Arts, the National Gastronomy Award and 3 Michelin stars, helms the kitchen of the refurbished Mandarin Oriental Ritz. Set within the beautiful Alfonso XIII lounge and overlooking the gardens, the hotel's star restaurant, Deessa, offers Dacosta’s original cuisine at lunch, dinner, and weekends. Deessa has retained its two Michelin Stars in the prestigious guide's 2024 edition.
This restaurant also serves diners in the garden areas of the hotel, perfect for the summer months. For more intimate dinners and celebrations, the hotel has a private dining room for up to 10 guests, called Condesa Masslov, in memory of the name adopted by spy Mata-Hari when she stayed at the hotel in 1916. In addition, it also offers the “Hidden Table” or Chef’s Table experience, in which a few privileged diners can enjoy all the hustle and bustle of the kitchen.
It offers four tasting menus: Historic Quique Dacosta, with the chef’s most outstanding dishes; Contemporary QDRITZ, with proposals specifically designed for this setting; and its smaller versions, Historic Essence Menu and Contemporary Essence Menu, which are only served from Wednesday to Friday at midday and on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. All the menus have a Mediterranean soul, with a strong emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and an innovative perspective. The wine list has more than 250 European and Spanish wines, also served by glass.
In addition, Dacosta is responsible for the other dining venues at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz:
Under the glass dome, the Palm Court restaurant , heir to the hotel's gastronomic tradition, presents a menu that fuses classic flavours with modernity. Here you can sample some traditional French pâtisserie, reinterpreted by Dacosta.
The most exclusive experience for champagne lovers can be enjoyed in the Champagne Bar, which can seat just 8 guests, where these sparkling wines will be paired with delicacies designed to create sophisticated harmonies;
At the Pictura Bar, you can enjoy a wide range of cocktails, which combine classic elegance with more avant-garde creations;
Open all year round, El Jardín del Ritz, with a spectacular new design, features a menu that allows you to explore the flavours and nuances of various international cuisines.
