Visit Madrid with the family

You're guaranteed to have fun at any of Madrid's leisure parks! They're perfect for laughing, screaming and shaking off any bad vibes. What's great is that there's something for all tastes: from Parque de atracciones amusement park to the Zoo-Aquarium, both of which are located in the grounds of the city's biggest park, Casa de Campo.

If you're interested in animals, be sure to visit Faunia park where you'll see how creatures from all over the planet live. And with more than 10,000 animals from 20 different aquatic ecosystems, Atlantis Aquarium is definitely worth a visit. If Superman and Batman are more your thing, then you'll want to head to Warner Theme Park Madrid. In the summer months, the Aquopolis water park is the place to be! 

We love football here in the city and as you well know, our teams are out of this world! Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, Rayo Vallecano… If you have the chance, head to a LaLiga or Champions League match, where the atmosphere is simply indescribable.

You can also go on the Bernabéu Tour to get an incredible panoramic view of the interior of the stadium, and to see the club's 15 European Cups. The museum and tour of the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, the super modern "Atleti" stadium, will teach you all about the team's history. You can visit the locker room, sit on the bench, or admire the club's collection of trophies and historic jerseys.

I love spending time in any of the city's parks! There's nothing like having fun while running around and going on the swings… You just have to explore El Retiro Park, where you should keep an eye out for puppet shows and even enjoy a boat ride on the lake. Then there's the long Madrid Río Park, where there are more great swings and slides, as well as an area full of logs perfect for doing parkour. It's a great spot for birdwatching too, so try and learn about the birds that live along the River Manzanares.

You could also visit Casa de Campo Park, a forest that makes for one of the largest parks in Europe, which is home to the Parque de atracciones amusement park and the Zoo-Aquarium. And what about the Quinta de los Molinos Park? Both you and your parents will be blown away by the almond trees that blossom here in winter, they're a real sight to be seen. Espacio Abierto can be found here too. It's a cultural space with a play area, activities, workshops and shows all devoted to kids and teenagers.

You'll be amazed by the amount of interesting museums that Madrid has to offer. For example, The Robot Museum. Don’t be surprised if you see a drone flying over your head when inside! Then there's the Planetarium, the best place to discover all you need to know about the universe. Visit the Geomineral Museum if you like collecting minerals, and the Railway Museum if you want to see trains from different periods. The figures at the Wax Museum will leave you flabbergasted, as will the boat models at the Naval Museum.

Don’t miss a trip to the Temple of Debod, where you can visit the inside of this Ancient Egyptian monument. If you love the world of knights, head to the Royal Armoury at the Royal Palace. It has an incredible collection of weapons, armour and trophies. And what if you've a sweet tooth? Then stop by the Sweet Space Museum, a magical world that revolves around candy. Speaking of magic! Feast your eyes on the impressive optical illusions at the Museum of Illusions.

I'm sure you like art just as much as I do, right? Of course you do! How can you not like Guernica, in the Reina Sofía? There's so much going on in this huge painting that I find it hard to take my eyes off it. You need to see Las Meninas in the Prado too! You'll notice that it features little girls, just like you. Try and have a guess at what games they played 400 years ago!

Madrid has lots of wonderful museums. For example, the Thyssen-Bornemisza, where you’ll be amazed by the colours of the Impressionist and Expressionist painters, or the Cerralbo Museum, the mansion of the 17th Marquis of Cerralbo, which makes you feel like an aristocrat from the late 19th century. Fascinating! Additionally, all these museums offer family activities to help you learn about art in a fun and engaging way.

If you're looking for a different place from which to see the city, head to the Faro de Moncloa. This observation deck allows you to enjoy panoramic views of the whole city. There are also many more lookout points for taking in the capital, such as Mirador Madrid at Cibeles Palace, or the Círculo de Bellas Artes rooftop, which has really impressive views. You won't be the only one checking them out, keep an eye out for the statue of the Roman Goddess Minerva, she's taking them in too!

Jump on tourist bus (like Madrid City Tour) to see some of Madrid's most famous landmarks. When you're strolling around the city's old quarter, don't miss the beautiful tiles adorning façades or some alternative views from the dome of La Almudena Cathedral, right beside the Royal Palace.
