The Madrid Stew Route is the best plan to combat the cold weather in Madrid and will be held from 1 February to 31 March this year. It is a gastronomic route that will visit many restaurants in Madrid city and others in the community of Madrid, offering the possibility to sample our typical dish. This year, the ambassador of Madrid’s Stew is Luis Suárez de Lezo, President of the Madrid Academy of Gastronomy.
The Madrid Stew Route will visit establishments throughout the region. 24 establishments in Madrid will participate in this latest edition, including La Bola, Casa Carola, Los Galayos, Lhardy, La Cruzada, La Gran Tasca, Los Arcos de Ponzano and Malacatín, among many others.
Restaurants from towns like Alpedrete, Alcalá de Henares, Lozoya or Alalpardo are joining in this initiative, enabling the best stews from all over the Autonomous Community to be savoured. This year, the route will include the Asador del Carmen in Toledo and En barro cocido in Segovia.
Diners will enjoy a stew, generally served in three stages (soup, chick peas and vegetables, and meats). The Madrid Stew Route is the ideal plan to savour our most typical dish and combat the cold weather with hearty, spoon dishes.
