Sello Safe Tourism Certified otorgado por el ICTEOn 17 June, the Plaza Mayor Tourist Information Centre and the city’s five tourist information kiosks (Plaza de Callao, Royal Palace, Reina Sofía, Paseo del Prado and Bernabéu) were awarded the Safe Tourism Certified Seal (UNE 0066-10 de Mayo 2020). Madrid is the first major city whose tourist information centres have received the seal which is given by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE).


Following the guidelines issued in March by the Spanish health authorities aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus, the city of Madrid stopped offering face-to-face assistance at its tourist information points. It did, however, continue to provide tourist information through the following channels:

Now that Madrid has moved into phase 2, not only will these channels continue to be available but Tourist Information Points will start reopening gradually:
