The Centro Danza Matadero - CDM will host the 13th edition of the International Film, Dance and New Media Festival, better known as FIVER, from 11 to 14 September. National and international artists will delve into the relationship between the body and the screen in their shows.
FIVER is a leading national and international festival specialising in the crossroads between film and audiovisuals and the arts of movement, performance and media. Founded in 2013 by Samuel Retortillo, the festival co-founded the Ibero-American Network of Video Dance Festivals (REDIV) and is included in the ICAA's list of film festivals.
This year's programme features works by renowned artists, such as Sebastián Lelio (Argentina/Chile), Simona Deaconescu and Grigore Burloiu (Romania), Claudix Vanesix, Fernando Vilchez (Peru), Dotzerosix, Mala Fama & ENE ESE (Ecuador), Natalia Fernandes, Victoria Fiore, Luiz Felipe Lucas, Manauara Clandestina (Brazil), Alfredo Miralles, Pablo Ayala and Guillermo Rubio (Spain). The international selection of works in the Film Dance 2025 series includes 20 films from Asia, Oceania, America and Europe.
In 2025, the festival will focus on Brazil and, in parallel, Fiver PRO will be set up, which includes professional encounters to connect national artists with international directors, programmers and managers, including Pedro Barreiro / Espaço do Tempo (Portugal), Ximena Monroy / INBAL - Agite and Sirva Fest. (Mexico), Majid Sedatti / Casablanca International Video Art Festival (Morocco), Marie Pauline Mollaret / Independent Programmer (France), Paulina Ruiz Carballido / Agite and Sirva Fest- Collectif V.I.D.D.A. (Mexico-France), Laura Murphy / Light Moves Fest. (Ireland) and Elysa Wendi / Cinemovement (Singapore). Regarding the training section, the festival offers two Fiverlab workshops with practical sessions on documentary film, dance and technology.
