During July and August, Veranos de la Villa fills Madrid with a wealth of cultural and leisure activities, transforming the city into an open-air stage. This annual festival offers a lively calendar of music, cinema, theatre, dance and entertainment, set against some of the city’s most distinctive backdrops. In its most recent edition, performances were held in venues such as the central courtyard and theatre of the Conde Duque Cultural Centre, the cloister of the Instituto San Isidro secondary school, the Serrería Belga Cultural Space and the Matadero Dance Centre. In 2026, the festival will mark its 42nd edition.
In 2025, this highlight of Madrid’s summer stretched over 49 days, presenting 106 performances of music, dance, theatre and film across 20 different venues.
The programme featured internationally acclaimed names including La Fura dels Baus, the Centro Coreográfico Nazionale / Aterballetto, the Astor Piazzolla Quintet, Julieta Venegas, Marcus Miller, the Junior Ballet of the Paris Opera, Tomatito, Yerai Cortés, the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and Choir, Pasión Vega and Lucrecia.
