Vienna New Year’s Concert. Wiener Symphoniker

On 4 January, the Teatro Gran Vía will host a recital by the Johann Strauss Ensemble (Vienna Symphony Orchestra) with a programme devoted to traditional Viennese music. This exciting musical experience will see in the New Year.

The virtuoso musicians of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra will feature in a unique concert that will bring together masterpieces and the characteristic and prestigious Viennese sound to see in 2026. Waltzes, polkas and marches will invite the audience on a musical journey that will immerse them in the elegance of the energetic and optimistic music of the Strauss Dynasty.

The Johann Strauss Ensemble der Wiener Symphoniker follows the tradition of the original Austrian ensemble. Violinist, Kirill Maximoff, first concertmaster of the Wiener Symphoniker, is the orchestra's musical director and will present the programme to the audience. Maximoff plays the “Antonio Stradivari ex Baron Oppenheim” violin, which was made in Cremona in 1716. This violin, named after the banker, Baron Oppenheim, is part of Stradivarius' golden age. He made his best violins in 1716 and there are only 300 of them in the world.

The recital programme features a careful selection of pieces, highlighting the precision and virtuosity of the Viennese musicians and the celebratory nature of the concert.
