The Lunar New Year, better known as the Spring Festival or Chinese New Year, is the most important traditional festivity of the year in the Chinese calendar. To celebrate in style, the latest edition of the Spring Race will take to the streets of Madrid on Sunday 1 March to mark the Year of the Horse.
Family-friendly and festive, the Spring Race will turn the Paseo de la Castellana into a sea of red, the lucky colour in Chinese tradition, to see in the year in the best possible way: through the enjoyment of running.
Departing and finishing on Puente del Rey, runners will be able to choose the distance in which to participate; 5, 8 or 16 kilometres, passing through Casa de Campo for the longer distances. The 5 kilometre race is ideal for families or friends, as it can be completed either walking or running.
The race will pass through new locations, such as Puente del Rey, Puente de Segovia, Paseo de Camoens and Madrid Rio. All participants will enter a raffle in which they can win prizes to participate in the different activities.
