This original adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic that tells the story of hope and aspiration nurtured by Oliver Twist is coming to Spain for the first time to offer a unique musical experience. It will be performed from 12 November to 14 December at Teatro La Latina, with performances from Wednesday to Sunday, staged by AMR Produce, producer of the popular musical Los Chicos del Coro.
This new version offers audiences a unique experience that combines a story full of emotions with a first-rate musical show. A production by the creative team behind the musical Los Chicos del Coro, which has already been seen by more than 250,000 people in Madrid. The cast will consist of more than 30 actors, both children and adults, who will bring to life the unforgettable characters of this classic story.
The novel tells the story of little Oliver Twist, an orphan who lives in nineteenth-century London. A story ingrained in popular culture and the imagination of both adults and young people, thanks in part to its numerous cinematographic, stage and television versions.
The renowned playwright and writer Pedro Víllora is in charge of the script and lyrics of the songs, bringing his unique sensitivity and experience to this adaptation. His best-known productions include Los Chicos del Coro, in addition to other renowned adaptations (Calderón, Emilia Pardo Bazán, Galdós, Wilde…) which have consolidated his reputation in the world of theatre.
The music is by the prestigious Argentine composer and musical director Gerardo Gardelin, who has an outstanding career in the world of musical theatre. He has been involved with major international productions such as Chicago, The Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia!, Beauty and the Beast, Cabaret, The Addams Family, The Producers and The Bridges of Madison County. Finally, the stage director is Juan Luis Iborra, and the scenery will be designed by David Pizarro.
