The German pianist and composer Max Richter gives a concert on 14 July in the Complutense University Botanical Gardens (Real Jardín Botánico Alfonso XIII) in which he performs the album In A Landscape (2024). This event is part of the latest edition of the Noches del Botánico festival.
Born in Hamelin (Germany) in 1966, Max Richter is a graduate in composition and piano from the University of Edinburgh and the Royal Academy of Music in London. In 2002 he released his first solo album, Memoryhouse, which was recorded with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. In total he has developed six personal LPs and has worked on music for films, plays and events.
In 2008 he was named European Composer of the Year for the soundtrack of the animated film Waltz with Bashir and his volume Sleep was chosen by Pitchfork magazine as one of the 50 best ambient albums of all time.
