The latest edition of the International Tourism Trade Fair, better known as FITUR, will be held from 20 to 24 January 2027 at IFEMA MADRID. It will be held over five days and will host professionals from the tourism sector and those interested in the sector’s latest tendencies, as well as the general public wishing to discover the destinations offered, who can visit the fair over the weekend. The 2027 edition will include Puerto Rico as its partner country.
Furthermore, presentations, cultural activities and strategic meetings with key players in the global tourism industry will take place during the trade fair. Priority projects related to sustainability, infrastructures and community development will also be promoted, as well as meetings with the private sector and potential investors, consolidating FITUR as a high-impact platform for the sector’s growth.
With Puerto Rico as the Partner Country, FITUR 2027 will expand to feature another two halls than in the previous edition, making Madrid the epicentre of business and progress in the tourism industry. It has also announced a second edition of the Knowledge Hall, renewing its commitment to contributing to the competitiveness and sustainability of the tourism sector.
From 20 to 22 January 2027, experts from all over the world will discuss the present and future of tourism, share good practices, present the latest technological tools available to companies and professionals and close strategic commercial agreements for business development. At the weekend, FITUR will become a major tourism celebration and will open its doors to travellers.
The 47th edition will feature a total of eleven halls, divided into the different geographic regions around the world (Europe, America, Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Spain), as well as an area devoted to tourism companies worldwide and a Travel Technology area, which grew by 50% in the 2026 edition.
Year after year, the Trade Fair moves forward in its line of specialisation, helping to promote the different industrial sectors that have an impact on tourism and which have developed an entire tourism strategy around their activity. The traditional specialised sections will also be present in 2027:
- FITURTechY, organised in collaboration with the Hotel Technology Institute (ITH)
- FITUR Know-How & Export, organised by SEGITTUR in collaboration with ICEX Spain Exports and Investments
- FITUR LGBT+ which will address different topics in order to revitalise tourism and enhance the diversity of different destinations under the "Love to Travel” claim
- FITUR Lingua, in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Associations of Spanish Schools for Foreigners, FEDELE
- FITUR Talent which will highlight talent and training as drivers of tourism development
- FITUR Woman which will focus its debate on the role of women in the workforce in the tourism industry
- FITUR Screen, dedicated to connecting the tourism and audiovisual industries, in collaboration with SPAIN FILM COMMISSION
- FITUR 4all, which seeks to bring all people with accessibility needs closer to tourist destinations and services in order to promote accessible and inclusive tourism.
- FITUR Cruises, focusing on the cruise industry
- FITUR Sports, focusing on the global sports tourism market
FITUR Edition 2026
The 46th edition of the International Tourism Trade Fair held in January 2026 featured Mexico as the Partner Country for FITUR 2026 and closed its doors with a positive balance, revalidating its ability to attract people, with just over 255,000 visitors over the five days. There was a 12% increase in international visits, in line with the 11% growth in international exhibitors. Furthermore, the number of weekend visitors reached 100,000. More than 10,000 companies from 161 countries took part in this edition, of which 111 were officially represented and there were 967 registered exhibitors.
One of the new features of the 2026 edition was the creation of the Knowledge Hall (Hall 12). This space became the epicentre of debate and innovation on lines that are challenging the future of a key industry that is increasingly responsible and technological.
