Madrid’s longest-running open-air film festival is celebrating its 42nd edition from 26 June to 5 September 2026 at Parque de la Bombilla, featuring a wide-ranging programme showcasing the year’s best films in digital format.
Audiences at the screenings will get special insight into Spanish cinema, with talks by directors and actors, films shown in their original language, the best animated films for children and adults alike, and, of course, the best films released throughout the year.
Most foreign films will be shown in a Spanish-dubbed version; films screened in their original language with Spanish subtitles are marked in the programme as (V.O.S.E.).
This edition includes recent releases such as Michael (2026), a cinematic portrait of the life and legacy of one of the most influential artists in the history of music; the science fiction comedy Bugonia (2025), directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Emma Stone; the historical drama Hamnet (2025), directed by Chloé Zhao; The Devil Wears Prada 2, the sequel to the comedy set in the world of fashion starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway; the science fiction adventure film Project Hail Mary (2026) starring Ryan Gosling; and the drama Sentimental Value (2025), which received nine Oscar nominations and won the award for Best International Feature Film.
Other notable titles include The Mandalorian and Grogu; The Super Mario Galaxy Movie; Rental Family; Disclosure Day; The Secret Agent; Toy Story 5; Kiss of the Spider Woman; Wuthering Heights; Moana; Supergirl; and A Bitter Christmas; as well as special screenings such as the 1980s adventure classic The Goonies (1985) and Pedro Almodóvar’s Volver (2006), among other films.
