The flamenco and jazz pianist is giving a performance on 22 October in the Green Hall at Teatros del Canal as part of the latest edition of the Suma Flamenca festival. Dorantes is premièring his show, Scarlattianas, in Madrid.
It is about 25 years ago when Dorantes (Lebrija, Andalusia, Spain, 1969) appeared on the music scene, an artist from a family with a long flamenco tradition, as he is the nephew of El Lebrijano and the grandson of an acclaimed flamenco singer, known as La Perrata.
He began his career playing the guitar at major flamenco festivals and then opted for the piano, enrolling at the Music Conservatory in Seville. Over time, the flamenco artist began to stand out and today he has become one of the most distinguished and innovative figures of the genre, who has contributed greatly to Spanish musical life.
