The Madrid Association of Composers (AMCC) is organising another edition of the Contemporary Music Festival, COMA, based on contemporary musical creation in the city of Madrid, in which composers born or resident in Madrid present their works performed by great artists. In 2025, the concert series will be holding its 27th edition in the Concha Velasco Red Hall and the Black Hall at Teatros del Canal, with performances scheduled for 16, 18, 19, 24 and 31 October and 2 November.
This edition features major new developments, such as new venues, collaborations with orchestras and choirs, such as OSUCM and ORCAM, exhibitions and many more surprises. A successful open call with more than 120 applications from different countries, has led to a diverse selection of soloists and ensembles. This latest edition brings together more than 23 activities.
Teatros del Canal will host six concerts with a wide variety of performances. The programme will kick off with a recital by the Cambra Catalana Orchestra conducted by Joan Pàmies, and will be followed by prestigious ensembles and soloists. The Community of Madrid Choir will participate in COMA25 with a concert in the Black Hall.
The Ensemble Teatro del Arte Sonoro, conducted by Rebeca Santiago, will present a programme entitled [Ranuras]. The programme will be rounded off with performances by the pianist, Alberto Villaescusa, the 4Sonora ensemble and the clarinet and piano duo, Luis Fernández Castelló and Carlos Apellániz.
