The Glee Club Academy will be performing an adaptation of the musical by Thomas Meehan featuring children and young students from the institution at the Teatro Bellas Artes from 6 December to 4 January, with performances from Saturday to Tuesday.

Set in New York City during the Great Depression, the show tells of the adventures of an orphan girl, Annie Jr., who never loses hope of finding her real parents, despite living under the care of the dreaded Miss Hannigan in an orphanage full of deprivation.   Her life takes an unexpected turn when she is chosen to spend a few weeks at the mansion of a powerful businessman, Oliver Warbucks, who is soon won over by her cheerful and determined spirit.

With the help of Grace Farrell, Warbucks' secretary, and President Franklin D. Roosevelt himself, Annie embarks on a quest full of hope and tenderness. However, Miss Hannigan, her brother Rooster and their accomplice, Lily, plot to take away the millionaire's reward, triggering a series of humorous and emotional entanglements.

With iconic songs, such as Tomorrow, It's a Hard Knock Life and Maybe, the show regains the essence of the Broadway classic in a version for all ages, celebrating the strength of optimism, the importance of family and trust in a better future.

The Glee Club Academy is a prestigious musical theatre school in English with its headquarters in Madrid, devoted to training children, young people and adults in the three basic principles of this art: song, dance and acting. Its method, based on the British performing arts curriculum, fosters not only artistic excellence but also the personal development of the students, promoting creativity, confidence and teamwork.
