Very close to the Plaza de Legazpi and Matadero Madrid is this small restaurant opened in 2023 by young chefs Lucía Gutiérrez (recognised in 2024 by the Basque Culinary Center as one of the top 100 most promising young chefs in Spain) and Sergio Vera, focusing on seasonal and market cuisine, made with quality produce supplied by small local farmers.
LUR, which means land in Basque, is a cosy little restaurant, with just four tables, accommodating up to 16 diners. The décor is simple and elegant, with neutral green colours, wooden tables and several jars of vegetables adorning the built-in shelving, all complemented by gentle mood lighting.
They have a menu based on seasonal products consisting of an appetiser, five savoury dishes, a pre-dessert and a dessert, priced €76 (excluding drinks).
