In 1 January 2026, Fundación Excelentia is putting on a special recital at the Teatro Real opera house featuring a selection of works by the great composers for the silver screen, Hans Zimmer and John Williams, performed by the Royal Film Concert Orchestra.
The Royal Film Concert Orchestra under the direction of Fernando Furones is embarking on a tour, performing soundtracks from the most successful films at these awards. A unique concert featuring the most famous soundtracks in the history of cinema.
The Royal Film Concert Orchestra (RFCO) is composed of professionals from the most prestigious European orchestras and schools. Musicians who not only perform classical but also other styles of music. The orchestra, made up of more than 90 teachers, belongs to Fundación Excelentia and performs concerts of film soundtracks on the best stages in Europe.
The American composer and pianist John Williams, who is honoured at this concert, has a long and successful career spanning six decades. He is one of the most prolific composers of movie soundtracks, having written for films such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jaws, Jurassic Park, and Schindler's List. He has five Oscars, as well as 52 other nominations, four Golden Globes, seven BAFTA and 23 Grammy awards.
Hans Zimmer is responsible for the hit theme tunes featured in major films such as Gladiator, Inception, Sherlock Holmes, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Dark Knight trilogy and the multiple award winning The Lion King, as well as many other film and television projects.
