Theatre Properties, directed by Silvia Villaú and with titles such as Annie, the Musical or Tarzan, the Musical under its belt, will be performing an adaptation of the famous musical that has captivated generations on the stage and on the big screen from Wednesday to Sunday from 1 to 26 July at the Teatro Alcázar. This major production focuses on emotion, spectacular visuals and the strength of its songs. Performed in Spanish.
This latest version brings back the sensitivity of one of the essential stories of the musical genre. The production stands out for its majestic stage design, which takes the audience to Austria at the end of the 1930s. From the convent where Maria lives to the elegant Von Trapp family residence, as well as the stunning alpine landscapes, each detail helps to recreate the atmosphere of the story with a visual impact.
The story follows Maria, a young nun full of energy and vitality, who arrives at the home of the strict Captain Von Trapp to look after his seven children. What at first appears to be a life marked by strict discipline ends up becoming a home full of songs, affection and new feelings. While Europe is shaken by the political and social upheavals leading up to the Second World War, the family discovers the value of unity and freedom.
With unforgettable music by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, the production recaptures the magic of a timeless classic, which will move audiences of all ages. An evening for all the family that combines intensity, nostalgia and some of the most recognised melodies in the history of musicals.
