The National Dance Company (CND) will première in Spain a programme that presents two short modern dance performances from 12 to 15 March in the Sala Roja Concha Velasco at Teatros del Canal
The evening will open with The Second Detail, an emblematic piece by William Forsythe. The performance, considered to be a pure example of his style, stands out for its structural complexity, playful nature and explosive physicality. With a refined technique and focusing on movement, the ballet invites the audience to let themselves get carried away by the energy and freedom that is exuded by the performers on stage.
The programme continues with Become, a creation by Johan Inger, which addresses change and transformation from an intimate and poetic perspective. The production reflects on what is shed, broken or abandoned in order to give way to new ways of existing. Each choreographic gesture is conceived as a mark, memory or rebirth, in an exploration of the body as a space where internal processes of change are written.
With this double performance, the CND confirms its commitment to a diverse and vibrant repertoire that connects history with contemporary explorations. It is an exercise in moving memory that highlights the relevance of Forsythe and Inger on the international choreographic scene and takes the audience on a journey of renewal.
