The quintessential Spanish musical is back on stage on 16 June 2026 to mark the start of the New Year and astonish Madrid audiences as part of the Filarmonía Esencial cycle. The same name but a different programme that is bound to be a huge hit at the National Auditorium, where Madrid's Philharmonic Orchestra regularly performs.
A New Year and a new Anthology of Zarzuela. The musical, whose honorary president is Plácido Domingo, is back with a new programme spanning over three centuries of Iberian culture, seasoned with the best dance and exceptional costumes that will delight the audience once again.
An eagerly anticipated event that quickly sold out in previous editions performed at the Symphony Hall, where Madrid's Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by founder Pascual Osa, will be performing some of the most emblematic pieces from Spanish zarzuela operetta.
The Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir project was launched in the year 2000 and is considered one of the leading references in national classical music. They have their own season at the National Music Auditorium.
