Paula Comitre / Veranos de la Villa

The flamenco dancer Paula Comitre will be giving a double performance on 15 and 16 July in the theatre at Conde Duque, as part of the Veranos de la Villa Festival, to present Après vous, Madame. In this project, she takes on the task of revitalising the figure of LA ARGENTINA in a show that harmonises tradition and avant-garde, drawing on other artistic disciplines, such as vocals and text, as well as different creators on today’s European scene. 

Born in Seville in 1994, Paula Comitre embarked on her solo career by premièring her first show, Cámara Abierta at the 24th Jerez Festival in 2020, for which she won the Breakthrough Artist Award. This was followed by the Flamenco Biennial in Seville and she won the Giraldillo Breakthrough Award. In 2023, she obtained a grant for the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris to carry out a five-month creative residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts. There, she started preparing her fourth project,  Après vous, Madame. She premièred this show in January 2024 at the flamenco festival in Nîmes, France.

In April 2025, she was nominated for the Talía Awards and won the Lorca Award for the Best Spanish Dance Performer for Après vous, Madame. She is currently the resident artist at Casa Velázquez in Madrid.
