La Navideña, the Christmas market in Plaza de España is back for yet another festive season to offer a wide range of activities for all the family. The fifth edition can be enjoyed from 25 November to 11 January 2026, bringing together a 600m2 natural ice rink, a Christmas market and a gastronomy area.
Organised by Super 8 Entertainment in collaboration with SANTALUCÍA, La Navideña is holding its fifth edition in 2025, becoming one of the most eagerly awaited Christmas activities.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a 600 m2 ice rink, which was visited by more than 60,000 people last year, and a Christmas market, with 40 stalls selling home-made products. A Gastronomy Area rounds off this experience with local classics, such as the traditional San Ginés chocolate with churros or the popular Glühwein mulled wine, which evokes the flavours of the Christmas markets in Germany and Austria. For those looking for a more exclusive experience, the indoor El Alpino restaurant, inspired by a cosy Swiss cabin, is the perfect place for Christmas celebrations with tables of varying heights and a traditional menu.
Furthermore, a light and sound show will bring the venue to life with a colourful choreography and synchronised music that will embrace the large tree and the main stalls throughout the day. This staging will be rounded off with a parade and free activities for all, along with a corner devoted to Father Christmas and the Royal Postmen, who will welcome children personally to collect their letters and take photographs.
This year, La Navideña has extended its program by combining music, theatre, circus, and figure skating. Performances by the Madrid Philharmonic Choir can be highlighted, which will fill the Plaza de España with music on 28 November, 7 and 23 December and 3 January from 10pm to 10.30pm. Renowned for its performances at the National Auditorium and for projects such as El Conciertazo (TVE), the choir will perform great Christmas classics in a unique symphonic-choral format.
The programme also includes the Christmas Parade, which is accompanied by a light and sound show that will travel around the venue at 8pm from Thursday to Sunday. This parade will fill Plaza de España with dreamlike figures, acrobatics and visual humour.
It must be highlighted that this year, the ice rink will host a dance show on ice featuring Sara Hurtado, nine-time Spanish champion and an international reference. Her performance, which has been especially created for the occasion, can be seen on 5, 6, 20 and 27 December, as well as 2 and 10 January from 10pm to 10.20pm, bringing together choreographies inspired by Christmas and a visual display with snow cannons.
The programme is rounded off with an immersive show inside the central tree, which is open every day from 10am to10pm, as well as Father Christmas’ house, which is open until 24 December, and the Royal Postmen’s Corner, from 26 December to 5 January, where children can hand in their letters from 12 Noon to 2pm and from 4pm to 8pm.
