As part of the Christmas programme, the Condeduque Contemporary Culture Centre will host an immersive videomapping designed specifically for the cultural centre by the artist, José Vaaliña, in its Central Courtyard from 17 to 23 December.
Projections on the façades of the Courtyard will enable visitors to experience an emotional journey through the different meanings of one of the most profound and universal symbols of Christmas: light. Its nativity scene, the Christmas lights in houses around the city, the interior lighting that illuminates and connects us, the light of nature and, finally, that of the immensity of the stars and the sky.
The work of José Vaaliña and the Eyesberg studio lies on the limits between visual art, technology and shared emotion. Their language transforms architecture into a tale and light into poetic material. From this perspective, A Christmas of Light will transform the Central Courtyard at Condeduque into an all-embracing space in which image, sound and structure come together to create a joint and sensory experience.
With a prestigious record at festivals, such as LuzMadrid, Llum BCN or Sónar, Eyesberg is one of Spain’s most innovative multimedia art studios, which specialises in creating immersive works that enter into dialogue with the space and the audience.
To round off this experience, a magical evening of Christmas music and lights has been organised for 23 December with the Madrid Bass Choir. This male choir, conducted by Juan Pablo de Juan, is one of the most renowned both nationally and internationally, and on this occasion it will be joined by the acclaimed soprano, Sonia de Munck, to share a musical journey that celebrates the spirit of Christmas in a concert with three performances.
