Plaza de Oriente will host one of the most awaited and fun events of the year just before Christmas. To celebrate the arrival of the most popular festivities of the year, Rondallas and traditional groups from the different towns of the Community of Madrid and surrounding provinces come together to "deafen” the city using the traditional drum-like zambombas, which is customary, before the festivities.
The route begins in Plaza de la Villa, crosses Calle Mayor, Santiago, Plaza Ramales and ends in Plaza de Oriente. It is stipulated that the route will not last more than one and a half hours.
Numerous groups from different areas of the Community of Madrid and from the city of Ávila participate in the event: Algazara (Candeleda, Ávila), Arrabel (Madrid), Asociación Charra en Madrid, Escuela La Dulzaina de Aluche, Pastores de Casavieja (Ávila), Raíces de Cenicientos (Madrid), Ronda Los Pilaretes (Arenas de San Pedro, Ávila), Zambomberos, Coros and Danzas de Colmenar de Oreja (Madrid).
