The Fever Hub Madrid is hosting a virtual reality experience from 25 September to 28 December, which takes visitors back 450 years to the heart of the ancient Inca Empire. It is a portal to the first virtual reality expedition to Machu Picchu, in which visitors can explore sacred temples, vibrant squares and mythical landscapes brought to life through cinematic storytelling and cutting-edge technology.
To bring Machu Picchu: Journey to the Lost City to life, the organisers have worked with Inca historians and have had exclusive access to the site during its closure due to the pandemic. Equipped with drones, LiDAR technology and photogrammetry, they captured every stone and peak digitally with an amazing level of detail. After five years in development, an exciting journey into the past is presented, which is as entertaining as it is accurate: partly epic adventure and partly a cultural tribute.
This free roaming, virtual reality experience enables visitors to walk through an amazing 4D Reconstruction of the ancient Inca citadel. Using advanced VR technology, it offers an immersive and multi-user journey through the Inca history, architecture and culture.
It is an adventure designed for families, history lovers and curious explorers of all ages in which to discover one of the great wonders of the ancient world without leaving Madrid. Meet TERI, a friendly companion robot who acts as a guide through the sacred temples, terraces and breathtaking peaks.
Approximate Duration: 40 minutes
