London City Ballet. Momentum / Veranos de la Villa

The Central Courtyard at Conde Duque will host the Momentum show on 24 and 25 July as part of the Veranos de la Villa Festival. It is a show in which the London City Ballet will perform a repertoire that pays tribute to British choreographers, such as Kenneth MacMillan, Ashley Page and Liam Scarlett.

Directed artistically by Christopher Marney since 2023, he has set out to keep this iconic touring company alive by combining a classical repertoire with contemporary productions. With its prestigious legacy, London City Ballet  aspires to confirm its place on the choreographic scene. Previously under the Royal Patronage of Diana, Princess of Wales, it is the resident company at Sadler’s Wells Theatre and a British benchmark in the world of dance. In less than two years, this revival has enabled the London City Ballet to captivate audiences in Europe, Asia and the United States.

Currently, the company offers a repertoire that pays tribute to British choreographers, such as Kenneth MacMillan, Ashley Page and Liam Scarlett, as well as renowned artists of the likes of George Balanchine and Alexei Ratmansky. Driven by this new dynamic, the London City Ballet has established itself as a key player on the international scene, whilst deeply rooted in tradition yet looking towards the future.
