The Community of Madrid will present the third edition of the Guitar Festival devoted to Niño Ricardo, which will be held from 21 to 26 April at the Teatros del Canal. This edition will bring together around twenty artists, including guitarists, flamenco singers and dancers, as well as other musicians that will round off these unique concerts.
The first edition of the Guitar Festival in 2024 was devoted to the maestro from Madrid, Ramón Montoya while in 2025, the second edition focused on the maestro from Navarra, Sabicas. In 2026, the face and inspiration of the Sonanta Flamenca’s Third Festival will be the master from Seville, Manuel Serrapí "Niño Ricardo".
Niño Ricardo is considered to be one of the leading Spanish guitarists, whose influence, legacy and skill spans from the start of the past century to the present day. Throughout his career, he shared the stage, toured and recorded with the greats of flamenco. He took the art of the guitar to every corner of Spain. His way of composing and playing the guitar led to “Ricardismo”, one of the most important guitar schools, to which such prominent artists as Serranito, José María Pardo, Ramón de Algeciras, Paco de Lucía, Rafael Riqueni, and Vicente Amigo, among others, belong or have belonged.
In this edition, Niño Ricardo will inspire four gala performances featuring musicians, such as Francisco Vinuesa, Manolo Franco, Chicuelo and José Antonio Rodríguez, accompanied by Mayte Martín, Carmen Linares or Marco Flores. The festival will also include a series of conferences and performances featuring the guitarists, José and Joselito Acedo, Alejandro Hurtado and Rafael Rodríguez. In this parallel activity, Ricardismo will showcase its DNA and depth, revealing its contribution to keeping flamenco alive in Madrid.
