The prestigious Yllana Company produces a gestural comedy that seeks to pay tribute to the seventh art through a hilarious film shoot. This show can be seen at the Teatro Serrano on 11 and 26 September 2026.
Directed by Joe O‘Curneen with performances by César Maroto, Rubén Hernández, Susana Cortés and Antonio de la Fuente, the production immerses the spectator in the wild shooting of a film, which has a crazy director, an arrogant diva, a mafia-style and stingy producer and a leading actor who has been replaced at the last minute by the producer’s nephew despite not having any acting talent.
Their misadventures take us on a journey through the most emblematic moments of the history of film, whilst remembering some of this art’s most famous characters and delighting the most passionate film buffs.
Yllana is an artistic group that got together in 1991 and is specialised in gestural theatre. Its performances have become great pieces of Spanish silent humour. Some of the most acclaimed are Splash!, 666, Olimplaff or Action Man, among others. Its productions have been performed in 44 countries and have been seen by more than one and a half million spectators.
Throughout its history, it has won numerous awards, such as the Max Award for Performing Arts 2012 for the Best Musical Show for Avenue Q, the Max Award for Performing Arts 2010 for the Best Children’s Show for Zoo or the Award for the Best Show at the Fringe Festival 2008 (Edinburgh-United Kingdom) for Pagagnini.
