From 5 to 8 March, Matadero Madrid will host the first edition of FORMA Design Fair Madrid, a new contemporary design fair set to become a meeting point for the professional ecosystem. This fair forms part of the programme of the latest edition of Madrid Design Festival.
Promoted by the festival and Madrid City Council’s Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport, this project was created with the mission of strengthening the design market and placing Madrid on the international map of specialised trade fairs. It also has the collaboration of Matadero Madrid, the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport’s space and the Designers Association of Madrid (DIMAD), the institution managing the Design Centre.
FORMA Design Fair Madrid will be held at Nave Una and the DIMAD Design Centre at Matadero Madrid, bringing together established brands, emerging studios, galleries, publishers, contemporary artisans and key players from sectors such as furniture, lighting, objects, technology applied to design and new materials. This initiative is presented to complement Madrid Design Festival, offering a cross-sectional look at contemporary design through unique pieces, limited editions and projects that explore new aesthetics and processes.
It combines an exhibition-focused approach with a professional programme (PER-FORMA) that will feature talks, demonstrations, meet-ups and educational activities. Its goal is to transfer knowledge, foster exchange between stakeholders from the sector and create new opportunities for collaboration and development.
