The prestigious Yllana company presents its latest creation, which brings together the art of flamenco and gestural comedy with the utmost precision and quality. This comedy show can be seen from 1 to 26 July at the Gran Teatro CaixaBank Príncipe Pío, where it will review major moments in the history of flamenco.
Co-produced with Sadler’s Wells in London, this show seeks to bring this iconic musical and dance style to an international audience of all ages, offering a unique experience that combines humour, theatre and live music.
FlamencOh! Reviews some of the highlights of flamenco, combining them with other musical and dance styles. Through impossible choreographies, extravagant characters and visual gags, Yllana creates an energetic, ingenious and, at times, wild show that keeps surprising the audience from start to finish.
With live music, a stunning visual display and, as always, humour that is accessible to all, the show manages to transform flamenco into a universal language, revealing that this traditional art form can reinvent itself without losing its essence. It will also include the signature style that is so characteristic of the company.
Yllana is a company that was set up in 1991 and is specialised in gestural theatre. Its productions have become great works of Spanish silent humour. Some of the most acclaimed are 666, Olimplaff or Action Man, among others. Its productions have been performed in more than 40 countries and have been seen by over one and a half million spectators.
