The 10 Film Greats is coming to the National Music Auditorium performed by the Royal Film Concert Orchestra under the baton of Fernando Furones. This concert, which will be held on 17 May, will offer a selection of themes from the best ten soundtrack composers of the seventh art: John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, James Horner, Alan Silvestri, Nino Rota, Miklós Rósza, John Barry, Jerry Goldsmith and Bernard Herrmann.
Therefore, more than 90 professionals who make up this orchestra will perform several of the mythical pieces from Star Wars and Harry Potter, by John Williams; Pirates of the Caribbean and The Lion King, by Hans Zimmer; and Titanic and Avatar, by James Horner.
There will also be time for the soundtracks of terror and suspense films, such as Psycho and Vertigo, composed by Bernard Herrmann; or action films, such as The Avengers and Forrest Gump, composed by Alan Silvestri.
The programme will be rounded off with the performance of pieces from Universal Pictures Logo, Total Recall, Dances with Wolves and Out of Africa.
