The best summer films can be enjoyed in the Plaza de España from 12 July to 14 September thanks to the latest edition of La Estival. The venue becomes the epicentre for the film culture in Madrid, turning into a great summer cinema surrounded by a Summer Market and a spectacular terrace with a gastronomy area.
The summer cinema is sponsored by Santalucía Seguros and has a large 100m2 screen and 800 seats with a varied offer that presents three major values: culture, gastronomy and solidarity with film premières, classics, concerts, monologues and shows.
The July film programme combines current films and premières with cult films, such as The Fifth Element (1997) by Luc Besson featuring Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich and Gary Oldman; The Substance (2024) with a cast led by Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley and Dennis Quaid; Cinema Paradiso (1988) scripted and directed by Giuseppe Tornatore; F1 (2025) starring Brad Pitt; Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) with Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey; Conclave (2024) with Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci; The Big Lebowski (1998) by the Coen brothers; the new Lilo & Stitch film (2025); or the new Superman adaptation (2025) with David Corenswet.
The programme also includes magic and comedy shows, such as The Magic of Jorge Blass in which the illusionist presents new and surprising illusions in a show for all the family; and the monologue by Jordi Merca, Yo sobreviví a la EGB. July will draw to a close in style with the screening of Pulp Fiction (1994), the classic by Quentin Tarantino that includes performances by John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, Harvey Keitel, Bruce Willis and Tim Roth, among others.
The audio will be broadcast through wireless stereo headphones, enabling the audience to select the screening language (Original Version with Spanish subtitles / Spanish), making this experience accessible for national citizens and tourists alike.
There will also be a catering area and DJs will be participating in the meadow on Fridays and Saturdays with free entrance for all. To round off the offer, outside the cinema area, there will be a Summer Market with 14 to 20 stalls, similar to those found on the beach, displaying local crafts.
