Tropical Garden at Madrid - Puerta de Atocha - Almudena Grandes station

Upon entering the station, visitors may be surprised to find this lush greenhouse surrounded by a cast-iron and glass structure. In an attempt to enhance the station after it was reopened to house the high-speed train AVE, the former passenger terminal was converted into a tropical garden with ponds.

The 4000 square metre garden contains over 100 different species of plants from the Americas, Asia, and Australia.

Currently, it has about 70 palms trees of different sizes, as well as 15 flower beds with countless shrubs and around 1000 specimens of other species.

There are also several restaurants and cafés in the vicinity.
