Opened in Salesas in 1998, this gallery specialises in contemporary graphic art. It was set up to exclusively publish, produce and exhibit graphic art, artist's books and original editions. Since December 2024, its headquarters have been in the San Isidro neighbourhood of Carabanchel.
La Caja Negra exhibits graphic art, works on paper, photography, artist's books and unique works by the artists it represents. It boasts an important collection of works by the most significant and representative creators in the world of contemporary graphic art.
La Caja Negra houses an important collection of pieces by the world’s most important, representative graphic artists. In addition to showing its own works and books by other publishing houses, it organises exhibitions in conjunction with many different artists and collectives and it also participates in diverse international fairs each year. In recent years, it has attended ARCO, ZONA MACO, IFPDA Print Fair, ArtBO, SP-ARTE, Gabinete Works on Paper and Fine Arts, PARC Lima, Pinta London, Pinta NY and others.
It is a member of IFPDA (International Fine Print Dealers Association).
