The Puerta del Ángel neighbourhood, in the Latina district, by the Casa de Campo country park, is home to this new cultural space (which opened on 10 October), for theatre, music, dance, cinema and spoken word events. Promoted by Andrea Stefanoni, who also founded Librería Mistral, along with the violinist and entrepreneur Aaron Lee Cheon, this centre is the culmination of the trajectories pursued by Librería La Mistral and Fundación Arte que Alimenta, striking a balance between artistic production and cultural management to develop long-term projects.
Espacio Mistral seeks to contribute to the city’s cultural fabric and engage with other Ibero-American, European and Asian cultural scenes, promoting creation and critical thinking, so that 'art circulates and connects with the community'.
Its artistic director, Maximiliano Legnani, will organise the venue’s activity around four interacting and integrated areas:
· Contemporary theatre and drama
· Music in all its forms
· Dance, body and movement
· Cinema, word, and thought
Each of them is supported by co-productions, residencies and international encounters, promoting collaboration among creators and exchange between Madrid, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
