The history of this century-old shop, located in the Salamanca neighbourhood, dates back to 1910 when the Parisian of Spanish origin Carlos Varadé, opened his first glove factory in Madrid, in the Rastro, after a period of training in Germany. Varadé opened his first shop in Madrid in Calle Montera and in other Spanish cities. Such was his success that in 1929 he won the gold medal at the Barcelona International Exposition for the quality of his gloves.
Nowadays, only the shop in Calle Serrano remains in Madrid, which is run by the fourth and fifth generation of the Varadé family, and its activity has been extended to the creation and sale of stockings and socks, shawls, scarves, hats and swimwear in summer. It has maintained both its quality and reputation over time. For this reason, many important Spanish designers and celebrities choose their gloves to round off their looks.
There are also shops in other cities, such as Bilbao, A Coruña, Valladolid, San Sebastián, Zaragoza, Santander, Ourense and Aranda de Duero, as well as the on-line shop via its website
