Balel

Located in the heart of the Salamanca District, this hat shop run by Isabel Terroso, an engineer who decided to quit her profession to devote herself to her passion: creating truly unique artisanal hats that are customised and stand out for their elegance and glamour.

Balel has revived the best millinery techniques in Madrid and the tools that were used a century ago to produce a variety of hats for special occasions or for everyday wear, using materials of the finest quality and taking care of every detail.  As the pieces are customised, clients are advised in terms of the style, shape and colour that flatters them the most, taking into consideration their features, style and personality.

With the aim of promoting the Spanish hat, Balel is also specialising in jewelled hats and the typical Calañés hat.

The services offered by this atelier include maintenance of the hats acquired to make sure they are always in perfect condition, such as cleaning, ironing or changing the ribbons and adornments. Changes can even be made to the shape or size if necessary.

Babel’s designs, with their pure and simple lines, have caught the attention of prestigious fashion houses, such as Dior and Chanel.
