This taberna is an absolute must if you visit the Plaza Mayor. It is a classic bar in the area, somewhat hidden, and always chock full of people. First opened in 1966, in this cosy spot you can sample what is undoubtedly their star dish: tender, battered boneless cod.
Founded by Santiago Revuelta, this traditional taberna has become a symbol of authentic, honest and genuine food, where, as well as cod, you can enjoy the best beers in the city according to experts, wine in traditional glass bottles known as frascas, a cool glass of vermouth, crunchy bacon torreznos, callos (tripe stew), croquettes that melt in the mouth...
The décor retains its original Moorish-inspired tiles, silver bar and wooden ceilings.
In 2021, Casa Revuelta opened a restaurant at No. 10 Calle Cuchilleros, just a few steps from the bar.
