Candeli

This restaurant, specialising in high quality seasonal cuisine, is the latest addition to the great culinary offer available on Calle Ponzano, in the traditional district of Chamberí. Candeli offers a carefully crafted menu that places the emphasis on respecting the flavour of the ingredients.

Brothers Alberto and Francisco Rivera, both of whom are sommeliers, head up this spacious restaurant, which is simple, elegant and inviting. It is bright and airy and is decorated with posters that hark back to the blackboards found in traditional neighbourhood markets and grocery stores.  It is divided into two spaces; a bar area with high tables for informal tapas, from where it is possible to see the charcoal grill; and another more elegant and formal space inside the establishment, which is decorated in shades of white with a minimalist style.

The menu consists of snacks, grilled meat and fish and a variety of fried fish, as well as salads.  The culinary offer is rounded off with a wide variety of wines.
