Farruquito & Quintet Flamenco / Veranos de la Villa

As part of the latest edition of the Veranos de la Villa Festival, the Central Courtyard at Conde Duque will host Farruquito’s show on 12 July, which is a profound celebration of flamenco in its purest form, in which tradition is revealed as a living and absolutely contemporary art form.

Accompanied on stage by a quintet of exceptional musicians, the flamenco dancer presents a traditional dance recital that draws directly on his Gypsy roots and the legacy of the Farruco dynasty. Each flamenco style—seguirilla, tangos, alegría and soleá—is performed with absolute respect for its essence. Removed from artifices, this recital proposes an intimate journey into the heart of flamenco, in which improvisation, the connection between artists and the authenticity of the performance create a unique and unforgettable experience. Farruquito & Quintet Flamenco is, above all, a tribute to the purity, memory and living strength of the flamenco art.

Juan Manuel Fernández Montoya has won many awards and recognitions.  In addition to his facet as a flamenco dancer, Farruquito is also a renowned choreographer, artistic director and musical composer.  His dance style is characterised by his strength, passion and refined technique and he is considered to be one of the leading exponents of contemporary flamenco.
