The neighbourhood of Pacífico, in the district of Retiro, is home to this new independent theatre, promoted and directed by Luis Otero and Keka Monreal, and dedicated to contemporary performing arts, text-based theatre, comedy, emerging creation, and small and medium-sized projects, offering everything from intimate productions to dance, musical events and stage performances. It also has its own drama school.
As part of its commitment to innovation and technical excellence in the service of art, the auditorium is versatile and transformable, with a retractable seating area of 115 seats that allows the space to be adapted to different formats, reaching a capacity of 198 people with the seats retracted, creating an open-plan space ideal for workshops, filming, rehearsals, presentations, conferences and corporate events.
It is equipped with cutting-edge technology applied to the performing arts, such as a professional Bose sound system, Behringer and Midas mixing desks, DMX Live lighting control, Optoma video systems and professional Canon recording, among others, as well as a state-of-the-art automated lighting system and stage patch for quick, seamless connections. All of this helps to create an immersive experience in terms of image, sound and lighting.
There is also a bar and drinks service, creating a warm, friendly atmosphere of connection.
Salto Escénico's programming is constantly being renewed, open to a broad range of performance languages. In addition to its regular schedule, the space will host collaborations with festivals, private events and complementary activities related to cultural mediation and engagement.
The Salto al Aula drama school invites students to explore the stage as a space for play, learning and transformation. Not only do students learn technique, but also experience theatre in a holistic way, from performance to collective creation, motivating students to create their own pieces.
