The legendary rock band has announced a world tour to present its much awaited new album Life, Death and Dennis Hopper (2025). The group led by Mike Scott will tour Europe, the United Kingdom, Ireland and North America and will stop off at La Riviera on 1 December on a tour that is set to be a journey through their greatest hits, along with new songs from their latest album.
Since they got together in Edinburgh in the 1980s, The Waterboys have experimented with different musical styles, ranging from the Celtic-tinged rock of their early work to the more electric sound of their latest productions. Influenced by Simple Minds, The Alarm, In Ta Nua, Big Country or Hothouse Flowers, their lyrics often feature literary references related to spirituality.
Classic hits, such as The Whole of the Moon, Fisherman's Blues and A Girl Called Johnny have left their mark on generations of listeners and continue to form part of their live repertoire. In 1993, the band broke up, but its members got back together in 2000.
With this latest tour, The Waterboys confirm their status as one of the most influential folk rock bands, maintaining the passion for music that has characterised them for more than four decades. On this tour, they will present their sixteenth studio album, Life, Death and Dennis Hopper, released in April 2025, whose title refers to the actor and director, Dennis Hopper.
