On 11, 12, 13, 18, 19 and 20 September, veteran actor and director Albert Boadella, along with Martina Cabanas, will be presenting a brand-new show in the Sala Roja Concha Velasco auditorium of Teatros del Canal, a contemporary zarzuela operetta that explores LGBTQI+ love.
Featuring soloists such as the tenor Enrique Viana, the baritone German Olvera and the soprano María Rey-Joly, the performance is presented as a mix of romantic comedy, emotional drama and Spanish popular music, set in three acts. The singers will be accompanied by the Comunidad de Madrid Orchestra and Choir.
At the height of summer in Madrid, young Tadeo arrives in the city for his first Pride, full of hope and excitement. Three women welcome him and accompany him on an adventure of personal discovery, freedom and partying. On that trip, he falls in love with the dazzlingly charismatic Alonso. But their romance becomes complicated following the arrival of PJ, a possessive and manipulative character who has a toxic relationship with Alonso.
Amid jealousy, passion and betrayal, Tadeo has a truly intense experience that brings him face to face with love, desire and the wretchedness of humanity. All wrapped up in the music and festive spirit of zarzuela operetta, against a backdrop of pasodobles, boleros and chotis.
