Juan Navarro Baldeweg. Doing and Fate

The CentroCentro cultural space will host an exhibition from 12 June to 2 November which reviews the multidisciplinary career of Juan Navarro Baldeweg. The exhibition highlights the common principles that connect his artistic production in different formats, paying special attention to the role of painting.

The artist, architect and thinker, Juan Navarro Baldeweg, presents a journey through his work from the 1960s to the present day.  The exhibition explores how disciplines like painting, sculpture, architecture and installations share a common structure, related to natural forces, such as gravity, light or energy and the active participation of the human body in the artistic perception.

One of the keys of the exhibition is the reflection on the interaction between doing and fate.  For Navarro Baldeweg, artistic creation is a process that transcends the mere will of the author and enhances it with the unexpected.  In his work, the artist allows himself to be guided by an intuitive process in which the work takes shape as it develops. This approach highlights the relationship between the human hand, gesture and the uncertainty that the creative process generates.

The work of the artist is not limited to visual expression, but also explores physical and sensory dimensions, such as light, gravity and energy.   These elements, present in many of his works, reflect his deep connection with the natural world and his concern for universal processes that reign on the planet. The exhibition also places special emphasis on painting, the most recognised medium of his career.  In his works, Navarro Baldeweg builds a unique visual language that merges abstraction with symbolism, creating images full of meaning and emotion.

The exhibition, curated by Ignacio Moreno Rodríguez, also offers a vision of the figure of the artist as a thinker, by putting his works and the processes that accompany them into context.
