Between the mid-970s and mid-980s, Kool & The Gang made history with albums like Wild and Peaceful (1973), Spirit of the Boogie (1975), Ladies' Night (1979), Celebrate (1980), Something Special (1981) and Emergency (1984).
Its core members over the years have been Robert ‘Kool’ Bell on bass and Ronald Bell on tenor sax; George Brown on drums; Robert Mickens on the trumpet; Dennis Thomas on alto sax; Claydes Charles Smith on guitar, Clifford Adams on the trombone and Rick Westfield on keyboards.
