Teatros del Canal will host the second edition of the Guitar Festival from 22 to 27 April in the Green and Black Halls, bringing together great figures from today’s guitar scene, such as Eva Yerbabuena, Dani de Morón, Manuel Liñán, Patricia Guerrero or José Maya, among others. This event is divided into four guitar, song and dance galas, and a further three with speakers, round tables and recitals.
This flamenco festival, backed by the Community of Madrid and directed by Antonio Benamargo , devotes its second edition to Sabicas , the stage name of Agustín Castellón Campos, a major guitar maestro, his work and his artistic footprint. The legacy of Sabicas and the new generations lives on in the region, which the festival wants to treasure in order to establish the most accurate cartography of today’s guitar.
This year's programme features guitarists from three generations, ranging from the veteran Paco Jarana , born in Seville in 1966, to the youngest David de Arahal . It will also feature two artists born in the 1980s, Dani de Morón and Manuel Valencia , as well as major figures such as Eva Yerbabuena, La Tremendita, Esperanza Fernández or Manuel Liñán .
In addition to the four concert galas into which the festival is divided, headed by Paco Jarana, Dani de Morón, Manuel Valencia and David de Arahal, there will be three parallel days from 22 to 24 April including a round table, two conferences and three guitar concerts in the Black Hall at Teatros del Canal.
