From 3 to 12 October, the city will be hosting the fifth edition of Hispanidad 2025, an event that has put Madrid on the map in the celebration of Spanish language (spoken by more than 600 million people in the world) and different Hispanic cultures with an international programme that includes music, literature, art and food at various locations around Madrid.
This year, there will also be a stage set up in Plaza de Colón for the very first time, where Gloria Estefan will perform a free concert on 5 October. The iconic Cuban artist will celebrate her 50-year career at Hispanidad 2025 with a special performance of all her greatest hits.
That same Sunday afternoon, the Cabalgata de la Hispanidad procession will return to Gran Vía with performances by folk bands from Latin America. Another highlight will be the concert by Bomba Estéreo on 12 October in the Plaza de España, in a new high-tech performance space that has been added to the rota of venues this year.
The line-up also includes Eliades Ochoa, Henry Méndez, Babasónicos, María José Llergo, Mocedades and Los Panchos, as well as the Corral de la Morería flamenco show in Plaza Mayor. There will also be performances by soloists and bands including Aleesha, Bareto, Bon Calso, Çantamarta, Dillom, El Twanguero, Gerardo Morán, Karina la Princesita, Kevin Johansen + Liniers + The Nada, La Ganga Calé, Los Estanques & El Canijo de Jerez, Maestro Espada, Miranda!, Duerdo, Nidia Góngora, ORCAM, Orquesta Aragón, Rita Payraya Estrada and Silvana Estrada.
Argentina has already been announced as the special guest country at Hispanidad 2025, and the United States, which will participate in the second edition of the grand Hispanidad parade taking place in October, will be the special guest country at Hispanidad 2026. At the previous two editions, the special guest countries have been the Dominican Republic and Mexico.
Drawing crowds of more than 630,000 people in 2024, Hispanidad is the ultimate gathering of Spanish culture. Repsol has partnered up with the organisers of this year’s edition and will supply 100% renewable energy to power the main concerts and parade floats, also integrating solar energy systems in the Repsol Hispanidad stage.
