The Australian group will be performing at La Riviera on 18 September as part of a European tour to present its latest album, Bird In Paradise, which was released on 7 March 2025 under the BMG Australia label.
The Cat Empire got together in 1999 in Melbourne, and its leading members are Felix Riebl, Harry James Angus, Will Hull-Brown, DJ Jamshid ‘Jumps’ Khadiwhala, Ollie McGill and Ryan Monro. The band's sound is the result of a fusion of styles, such as jazz, ska, punk, rock, gypsy and Latin, with which the Australian group has captivated audiences and critics around the world over the past decade and a half.
Its status was consolidated in Spain thanks to the various tours that brought the group to Spain during the live concert series of its sixth studio album, Steal The Light, released in 2013. The bar was raised following the release and subsequent live presentation of Rising With The Sun, an album whose songs Wolves and Bulls had been previously released.
On this latest concert tour, The Cat Empire comes with new material under its belt: the tenth studio album, Bird In Paradise. This album features songs like La Gracia, Blood On The Stage, Devil and Doing Fine, which once again showcase its ability to mix genres and reinvent itself without losing its identity.
