Housed within Nave 11 of Matadero Madrid (in the Sala Fernando Arrabal room of the former Naves del Español), Centro Danza Matadero - CDM is the first public space in Spain dedicated exclusively to dance, in all its disciplines: flamenco, Spanish, urban, classical and contemporary. Its artistic director María Pagés is one of the most internationally renowned Spanish dancers and choreographers. Find out what’s on in 2025!
The CDM also help to cement Matadero Madrid status as an important cultural hub in the city.
The performance and activity space open to the public is located in Nave 11. Spread over an area of approximately 1,300m2, the space's standard seating arrangement allows for a maximum capacity of 449 seats. However, this can be increased to 634 by installing additional seating along the sides.
It's equipped with dressing rooms, showers, toilets, a hairdressing and make-up room and a wardrobe department, with Nave 16.1 housing the rehearsal rooms and the offices.
More than 600 artists and 56 national and international companies
CDM’s 2025 programme will include established artists, but will also give space to promising new talent. Throughout the year, it will host 66 productions, including six premieres and eight co-productions, with 140 showings performed by 48 national and eight international companies, with a total of 600 artists taking to the stage.
